Scope and Content

Autograph letter to Hugo admiring his latest work and his recognition of Charles Fourier's greatness. As a patriotic Peter Czynski reproaches Hugo for putting the inferior Galilée on a par with a true but unrecognized astronomical genius, the Polish Copernicus.

Czynski was a Polish politician who fought during the November Uprising in 1830. After the defeat against Russia, he fled to France where he lived as a writer.
