Scope and Content

From Henry Barrett in Richmond, Surrey, to Great Woodstock Street, London. He has been very busy of late, with correspondence to Jamaica requiring his attention.

With regard to the distressed condition of Baron Manchvolk? he will write as Sally requests to Mr Cosway for financial assistance. Barrett himself has never met the baron, but has heard about his situation from Countess de Salis.

Regrettably he is unable to offer financial help himself, and he knows that Count de Salis is in the same position - the Count stands to lose £6000 in rents from his estates in Limerick.

Dr Charles Burney is to officiate at the christening of Barrett's child tomorrow.
