Copy letter from Wakefield, Yorkshire, to the Missionary Committee of Finance and Advice re his examination of the foreign mission candidates — Messrs Dowson and Jewett of the York Circuit and Mr Crashaw of the Sheffield Circuit. He expresses his fears that the Methodists are losing ground in the West Indies to the Calvinists, and he describes in detail their disposition on the islands, and his proposed response.
