Scope and Content

Copy letter from Truro, Cornwall, to the Missionary Committee for Finance and Advice recommending the appointment of Mr Olivier to work among the French prisoners in Plymouth, Devon, now that the government has given approval. Coke is preparing a French sermon in anticipation.

He is very worried about the state of mission finance – now £4,000 in debt. He has therefore abandoned his literary work to concentrate on raising money.

A list of mission subscribers has been left with Mr Blanshard for the press.

Robert Lomas in Leeds, Yorkshire, and eleven preachers in Wiltshire, have been refused preaching licences by the Quarter Sessions.
