Scope and Content

Copy letter from William Brocklehurst's house, Manchester, enclosing the form of an oath found on a man apprehended for theft in Oldham, Lancashire. Coke fears that Birmingham and Sheffield also contain revolutionary groups.

In a postscript Coke mentions that the three Methodists arrested for sedition had in fact been expelled from the Society five years before because of their democratic beliefs.
