Benjamin Keasberry, Mount Zion, Singapore - following sale of chapel, requests his allowance of £50 per annum be paid to Blackheath Mission School [School for Sons of Missionaries] for education of his two sons; news of Matthias, Ismail etc.; Ching Hwang now serving the Presbyterian Mission at Swatow. Hopes to issue second edition of Malay New Testament in roman characters with help of British and Foreign Bible Society by end of year. Regrets possible abandonment of school of 40 boys and 15 girls and congregation of over 35 members.
