Hardback notebook containing part of a manuscript draft of 'The Drummer Boy' by Leon Garfield. The notebook begins with a section numbered '4', roughly equating to chapter 4 of the published work, and progresses through to section '8', roughly equating to chapter 8. The manuscript evidences significant revision and reworking throughout and in some places, pages has been folded in half vertically to indicate that they have been superseded by revised text. Some loose pages of manuscript, all of which are fragments of 'The Drummer Boy', have been inserted at the back of the notebook.
