She thinks about him a lot and every morning and evening she takes a tour round all her children and grandchildren and asks God to bless them all. Tells him the tale of how she converted 'the terrible cat living next door...[with] awful eyes like Lord Kitchener's'. She gradually tamed her; she follows her around like a dog and her Kitchener eyes are growing quite mild.
