Scope and Content

Correspondence and papers dating from 1983, with one exception which dates from late 1982. This bundle includes a number of copy letters from Cox as well as incoming letters; where a correspondent is represented by a copy outgoing letter only, this is stated in the list below. The correspondence largely relates to: plans for the twenty-fifth anniversary issue of CQ to be published in 1984, including a number of invitations to potential contributors; and to articles on Shakespeare which had formerly appeared in CQ and which Cox was arranging to publish together as an anthology entitled Shakespeare's Wide and Universal Stage. Michael Freeman's letter relates to the index for CQ Volumes 1-25 which he was preparing at this time. Correspondents are as follows:
