Scope and Content

Eileen was first invited to join the Central Council of Physical Recreation (CCPR) Executive Committee by its founder, Phyllis Colson, in 1953. Eileen served as a member of the Executive Committee twice, from 1977 to 1983 and 1987 to 1989, and chaired the Movement and Dance Division from 1969 to 1981. As a member of the Executive Committee, Eileen became eligible to serve on the Sports Council, an appointment she held from 1977 to 1985.

Contains correspondence and related papers concerning Eileen's involvement with the CCPR. In particular, occasional minutes and reports of the Movement and Dance Committee and texts of speeches given by Eileen on the work of the committee; successive notifications of Eileen's appointment to the Sports Council; letters of appreciation; occasional press cuttings reporting on matters directly affecting the CCPR and/or Sports Council; single b/w photograph of the CCPR Committee Group at their AGM on 21 December 1972.
