Letter from Charles Clyatt to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

This manuscript letter opens with Owen being thanked for sending £10.

The precarious future of the Social Reformer newspaper is then discussed with Clyatt asking "if we must absolutely let the S.R.[Social Reformer] drop" then the " enemies of the Cause will point to it as a great defeat"; the supposition is that The New Moral World is culpable for the demise of the Reformer.

Clyatt is clear with his belief that the loss the Reformer would be a major loss, as "nothing can forward the cause like a stamped London Paper"; asks Owen to try to publish the paper for 5 more weeks as the paper has not had a "fair trial".
