Letter from Charles Clyatt to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter asking Owen to forward £15 so that the 10 numbers [editions] of the Social Reformer may be published "without difficulty". This request is made despite Cylatt receiving a £10 in a letter just previous to this.

Explains that bills have been sent to Birmingham and that he tried to exchange an advert with [the editor of the] The New Moral World, as suggested by Dr [Henry] Travis, but that this was unsuccessful; remarks that the editor of The New Moral World "does not act in the same spirit to me [Clyatt]" and adds that he believes "he is afraid of the SR [Social Reformer].
