Manuscript letter from Gray to the Secretary of London Co-operative Society, care of Robert Owen. Gray says that he recently received a printed circular entitled Outline of the Rational System of Society. Gray says that he views, with regret, a society that is pressing with unabated energy the Phantoms of Theology and questions what religion has to do with the eternal doctrine of necessity. Gray says that he has recently finished a paper on this subject entitled The Social System, or proposals for the formation of a Rational Communal Association, by which the production, exchange, and distribution of commodities may be so regulated that demand may ever keep pace with production. He says he is unable to print it because he can not afford to do so at present.
