Scope and Content

Document testifying to the fact that William Charles Marriott Atmore did, on 13 August 1811, inthe presence of the Conference assembled in Sheffield, give the sum of seven shillings, which wasthe first money to be paid towards the purchase of the ‘Wesleyan Academy at WoodhouseGrove’. This was attested to by his father Charles Atmore, President of Conference. Anotherhand has added the fact that more than £7,000 was raised during the course of the year for WoodhouseGrove by voluntary subscription.
