Scope and Content

From Edgeware Road, London, to Thomas Allan in Blackheath, Kent, enquiring re the possibility of suitable employment being found for his nephew John William Wesley. Charles is unable to support him, and his father Samuel Wesley 'does not care for that part of his family'. John is a studious industrious young man, and his uncle was recently able to secure permission for him to use the British Museum Reading Room.

In a postscript he adds that John has been employed in the coal trade, but had incurred too many debts.
