Joseph Jones, Bagillt, D Company 2nd Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers, Army No. 4191950, Madagascar /Burma, 2 RWF was part of 29th Independant Brigade, 36th Division. He took part in all the operations to secure Madagascar between May/September(?) 1942, and the campaign in the Arakan and "Railway Corridor" in Burma where 29th Independant Brigade was under the command of the American General "Vinegar" Joe Stillwell. He died aprox. 1985, he lived at the time in the OAP bungalows, Highfield, Pentre Bagillt. During his war service he was known as "50" Jones or "Nipper" Jones. He adopted the name Bennett because his mother had married twice.
