Robert Dell to C. P. Scott.

Location: Paris.

He has heard of another possible attempt to try to expel him; he thinks it curious that this should arise during Northcliffe's visit to Paris. He has arranged to see various deputies about the matter. He has been told that the M.G. is a target as much as he is; it is part of an Anglo-French reactionary campaign. He knows, from a confidential source, that Northcliffe sees Daudet and Maurras when he is in Paris. The Times seems to working with Action Française; they seem to be informed ahead of Paris. He refers to Duval. Reports of the conference give the impression that there is less unity than before; he expands on this. He comments on Wilson's speech to the Congress. He adds a postscript that Clemenceau has caused a strike by 12,000 munition workers.
