Scope and Content

Robert Dell to C. P. Scott.

Location: Paris.

He is enclosing two articles about the proposed alliance. He refers to a piece in the M.G. about the election of the President of the Chamber; he proceeds to comment at length on French politics, particularly Chauvinism and Nationalism. He thinks that the alliance the French government wants would be dangerous. In his article he has given the views of the different parties; he elaborates further. He opines that all European governments are bad and anti-democratic, and gives examples of their shortcomings. He plans to be in London in June and wonders if he would be there. He comments on the forthcoming Belgian election and potential repercussions; he will send a note, if they wish.
