Parlington. Sir Thomas Gascoigne to 'Good cousin Swale' in Gray's Inn. Asking him to obtain a copy of the Commissioners certificate, so that he can proceed to get abatements of the valuations. Encloses his proposed claims for Assessments, Annuities and Feefarms. The letter is in another hand but his own appears in notes on both sides concerning his negotiations, including instructions to Mr, Fowles in a draft letter. He adds 'you must know yt the Certificate is for the whole Estate not for 2 pts of it'.
