Administrative / Biographical History
An open competition was held to find a suitable design for a medical building to house the Physiology, Materia Medica, Forensic Medicine and Public Health departments. James Miller won with his Scots Renaissance style design. The building was begun in 1903 and completed by 1907. In 1963 the building was extended to the east to designs by Keppie, Henderson & Partners to provide a Biochemistry building.
