Scope and Content

Frederick Voigt to W. P. Crozier.

Location: Valencia.

He describes the situation, food becoming scarce, prices rising. 'The Germans have done more damage in Spain than all the others… put together'. Guernica was destroyed by German planes; the artillery around Madrid is predominantly German. He talks of the terror, and tries to estimate the numbers killed in the war. He gives his opinion on the war and the country; he thinks that a rebel victory would be disastrous for Spain and Europe. He may have the opportunity of visiting the Córdoba front so far unvisited by journalists.
