Letter from Harriet de Salis to Lady Mary Wake (see HAM/1/8/8). She writes that although she and her sister were engaged, they would have been happy to rearrange their appointment and accepted her [Lady Wake's?] invitation if it had been in her power to go out. Both she and her sister have colds and her only male servant is also ill and confined to the house. Salis continues the letter with enquiries on other acquaintances.
