Novel by Charles Dickens serialised in the journal Master Humphrey's Clock from Feb 1841 to Nov 1841, published by Chapman and Hall. By 1840 Dickens wanted to leave Richard Bentley and make Chapman and Hall his sole publishers. These documents relate to the complex negotiations between the three parties regarding this split and the copyrights for 'Barnaby Rudge', which Dickens had originally promised to write for Bentley, and the copyrights to 'Oliver Twist', owned by Bentley.
