He left his pen in London and the hotel he is in does not supply stationery, so he is writing in pencil; they have been busy, cycling from London to Cambridge; they visited the Cambridge colleges then cycled 73 miles to Ely and Newport Pagnell; yesterday they cycled 74.5 miles to Reading; if he decides to take his bicycle home with him he will cycle 75 miles to Southampton; they have seen fine places and gardens on this trip; Cambridge was his favourite place; they took a ferry across the Thames yesterday to save some mileage; he has been visiting Reading today and catching up with his diary and letter writing; they will return to London on Tuesday and leave for Southampton on Friday
