Carbon copy of typed notes by W.R. Brock, regarding the correspondence of John Coupar, ca 1828. Papers are held by the Georgia state department of archives and history. Brock only has the following to say about the correspondence;
John Coupar was one of the most prominent Georgia ante-bellum planters. These two letters, written from St. Simons, Geogia, to his brother in Scotland, contain much interesting detail on coupar's business activities. At the time these were not flourishing, and had resulted in near bancruptcy. [sic bankruptcy] In addition, there is amusing comment on family matters, and stories of Scottish settlers of Coupar's acquaintance. [S.d.]
