Typed notes by W.R. Brock, regarding the papers of David Simpson and family, 1827-89. Papers are held by the Minnesota historical society. Brock only has the following to say about the papers;
David Simpson was born in Kincardineshire, Scotland, and emigrated to Minnesota with his fgamily, including his son Charles (b. 1843), in 1858. The papers include a number of character references, marriage banns and church certificates issued to David in Scotland, but there is little of other than family or local interest.
