COPY LETTER: William Lewis & Co., 26 Chapel St, Liverpool to Captain W.W. Fisher, Cape Town. They wrote last on the 19th inst. which they beg to confirm. They have not yet chartered his vessel for further employment, and things are not improving. Regarding dock tonnage dues, they think they have been misled, as they have inspected the a/c of the "Colonial Empire" and they find that she paid dock dues for 14 days at ¼d and for 2½ days at ½d per gross ton per day, and their previous statement that dock dues were chargeable at the rate of 1d. per gross ton per day is wrong. They hope that the disbursements of the "Talus" will be lower than those of the "Morven" and the "Colonial Empire". The "Morven" experienced some delay with ballast. They trust he will be able to complete his ballasting almost simultaneously with the completion of the discharge.
