Dunham Park Wall Account

Scope and Content

Account for the building of the wall round Dunham Park. The wall was built in sections between 1748 and 1751, and the account records the length of each section (total: 5090.46 yds).

The cost per yard length of wall is calculated, including foundations and coping stones (9s 6d per yard), producing a total cost of £2,425 7s. This may be a theoretical or tendered cost, as the [?actual] cost is also analysed thus:

Brickmaking £1,035 17s 3d ha.

Iron rails £47 1s 8d
