Scope and Content

The pieces below were found loose or tied together in modern bundles. They include political correspondence with Lords Malpas and Cholmondeley (/11, /12, /21 & /23), the Duke of Newcastle (/22 & /24), Lord Gower (/29 & /32) and Lord De La Warr (/36-38), papers relating to financial matters (/7-9, /34-35, /41), papers relating to the trusteeship of Henry Mainwaring (/25-27), papers relating to Thomas Walton (/16, /39-40 & /43), papers relating to the early history of the barony of Dunham Massey (/42/1-3), a presentment of Henry Booth and a list of persons indicted for treason in 1644, both given to G.B. by George Tyndale (/59-60), and miscellaneous pieces such as extracts from poems and theological works (/1, /10, /13, /18-20, /51, /55-58, /61-62).

Most pieces were enclosed in a modern paper wrapper endorsed: "Miscellaneous Papers of 2nd Ld Warrington including letters respecting Rebellion of 1745" (in the hand of the 10th Earl of Stamford).
