LETTER: Mrs Yale, Gorphwysfa, Bath to Mr Adams referring to letters she sent him concerning a gentleman who had wished to rent Plas yn Yale - proof that it could not have been in such a deplorable state as Mr Yale pretended. Nor is it true that Col. Yale never consulted his successor. The late Mr John Parry was frequently at Yale and expressed gratitude at the work done. She informs him that the man who built Plas yn Yale was imprisoned for work ill done and when they took the place over not one room was papered, only colour washed, and all needed replastering. Col. Yale was 10 years younger than Mr Corbet Yale when he took over Plas yn Yale and expected to have children to succeed him, therefore it was not in his interest not to improve the place.
