Typed letter from Frederick Lanchester to Robert Lockhart concerning the price of his new book 'The Musical Scale'

Scope and Content

Price is one guinea (21/-). Thanks Lockhart for the photos he sent of his new house. Suggests that the Lanchesters would know where to go if they are totally bombed out [in Birmingham]. There has been less bombing in Birmingham and he thanks Stalin [for taking the pressure off the western front of the war]: 'Here's to Stalin, without whose brilliant strategy and vigour we should never have won this war, now I think we shall. Democracies talk too much and act too late. The system is based on a lie, and the truth is not in it.'
