From Haydon Hall, Middlesex, to Revd. Richard Tabraham in Lerwick, Shetland Islands, re the scandalous behaviour of Revd. Robert Thwaites of the Yell, Unst, and Fetlar circuit. Thwaites must leave the islands as soon as possible, and every effort made to disguise the real reason for his departure (see PLP/25/10/36, 38 and 39). Tabraham is authorised to call on Mr. L (Langridge?) for help.

If they do not immediately apply for another preacher, then the President may not discover the facts of the case.

He describes the death of Robert Scott, and the extent of his Methodist charitable bequests-about £10,000 in total. Margaret Stove? stayed with Clarke in Bristol, and he was very impressed with her character.

The missionary committee? has been threatening to dishonour bills presented by the Shetlands due to their overspending, but the money given by Robert Scott has solved the problem.
