Scope and Content

From James Falconer, who asks WE and his wife to visit on their way to town, and reminds WE of the half-yearly navigation meeting [of the Trent-Mersey canal company] which all committee members must attend in person or by proxy; he mentions that the Duke of Bridgewater is highly offended by their committee's proceedings, and is worried that the Duke's friends may alter the committee with the weight of their votes.
