Manorial and court records

Scope and Content

This sub-subgroup contains a small quantity of manorial records and subsidiary papers, largely relating to the manorial courts held by the Egerton family. They predominantly date from the time when John Egerton (1679-1724) was lord of the manor. Being so disparate and small in number, they have been divided into a composite series of court-related records, including items which were presumably added to the bundle of court papers at a later date, and a series consisting of constables' presentments, which form a fairly complete sequence covering the years 1703- 1715.
