Written over a number of days, mainly about how cold both he and the weather are, and trying to get on with writing the novel which he is calling 'Katherine' (became 'A Girl in Winter'). Refers to Joyce Cary's novel 'The Horse's Mouth', what is to be done with Germany after the war, and 'The North Ship'. (6pp). Contains rough illustration of Larkin typing. Part is printed in the Selected Letters, pp. 97 - 98.
Letter, made up of two airmail letters (handwritten letter signed). Philip Larkin to James Sutton, writing from Shropshire.
