Manuscript

Manuscript of the book from introduction onwards. The introduction is a newly prepared typescript. The poems by Smart which were included in the 1972 edition have been photocopied from that book and pasted onto larger sheets. Additional texts which did not appear there have been photocopied from other sources or included in typescript form. There is some annotation by Walsh himself. He has also foliated the manuscript in pencil. Folios 34, 39, 43 and 79 are missing; they are included with the collated proofs, and had been removed because they included Greek or Hebrew text which was added after the initial typesetting process. Stored with: a copy letter from Schmidt to Walsh (29 June 1979) and Walsh's reply (26 June), relating to proof correction and the compilation of the acknowledgements.
