Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
This collection is the result of the work of the Oxford Development RecordsProject relating to higher education in Africa. The project set out to recordthe experiences and preserve the reminiscences of people who had been involvedin higher education, both during and after the colonial period, whether asacademics or indirectly (such as those who worked for the Inter UniversityCouncil). An aide-memoire was sent to potential contributors, which they wereinvited to answer in the form of a memorandum, adding any original papers theywere willing to donate. The period mainly covered was from the end of World War Twoto independence.
