JUNE Describes a run on the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) after the failure of the New Oriental Bank Corporation.

AUGUST-late OCTOBER One entry only, noting parents' golden wedding.

NOVEMBER Moves from Calcutta to Rangoon as agent.
