Thomas Russell to Sir Arthur Ingram at London complaining that Low and others have short supplied him with ashes (200 instead of 1,200 tons) liquor and urine, that he could make alum for £6 a ton with less than the normal materials and that it would cost only £500 to fit out the works. Low however imagined he could clear all commitments under the old arrangement and has got more heavily into debt, and turning the men against him. [Other allegations follow].
