Scope and Content

To Mrs Hankes. Ball found the letter that Hankes wrote to her, at the time that Hankes has setaside for private devotion - the thought was very strengthening to Ball’s soul. It was veryneeded as well at that particular time for ‘we was much interupted in our meetings by somethat Mr Haws had let part of his house to.’ Spiritual matters are discussed.

‘When I meet the people in the room one night, our enemys was under the window in thegarden mocking and derideing, the more the [they] mocked the more my courage increased.
