To Miss Dickinson at Taunton. Ball is at the moment confined to her bed with a little‘indisposition of the body’ and is therefore devoting some of her time to be of serviceto Dickinson. Spiritual matters are discussed in detail.

She felt pain on Dickinson’s behalf when Mr [George] Shorter read her some of her lettersand indeed, this is one reason why Ball is writing this in the hope that she can be an aid toDickinson’s faith. Spiritual matters are discussed in detail.
