Scope and Content

To ‘My dear Sister’. Spiritual matters are discussed in detail. Ball has recentlybeen prevented by illness from attending the ‘publick means’ [communion or possiblyworship in the general sense]. She thought of venturing out today but was prevented by the coldweather. She has felt a great deal of the presence of her ‘beloved’ [Jesus] in hersickness. Spiritual matters are again discussed in detail. Ball does not know if it is God’splan to allow her to live a long life - sometimes she thinks one way, only to change her mind onother occasions.

Her correspondent should ‘still go forward, live close to your Jesus...’

Spiritual matters are again discussed in detail.

Through God’s mercy, she has been able to venture out today and is much refreshed in mindand body
