The five notebooks contain accounts of journeys through southern England, walking holidays in Devon and excursions on Dartmoor undertaken by William Grey while he was an undergraduate at Oxford. The journals contain notes on towns and villages visited, churches and other buildings, the landscape, and occurrences and people met during the journeys.
