Notes created by R. R. Martin during research on George Hickes (1642-1715), which contain notes relating to Hickes and his historical context, extracts from works by or relating to Hickes and hand-drawn maps of places associated with Hickes. LC/MS/OMP/MA/A/2 and LC/MS/OMP/MA/A/5 contain newspaper cuttings relating to George Hickes, while LC/MS/OMP/MA/7 contains correspondence sent to R. R. Martin which has been reused by Martin to write notes on. There is one file on the life of George Hickes (LC/MS/OMP/MA/A/1), two files on the letters of George Hickes (LC/MS/OMP/MA/A/2-3), three files on the works of George Hickes (LC/MS/OMP/MA/MA/4-6) and one file labelled 'Notes on the Authorities for the Life of George Hickes Dean of Worcester' which contains notes on sources relating to Hickes, chronologies of Hickes's life and chronologies of contemporaries of Hickes (LC/MS/OMP/MA/7). The only dated item is LC/MS/OMP/MA/A/1, which features a handwritten note reading, 'Commenced 1920-22' and contains a slip announcing the donation of that item (and possibly the other items in this sub-series' to Vivian Green which features a note reading, '1920-22'. Other items are undated, but were probably created in the 1920s as some contain newspaper cuttings from the 1920s and correspondence sent to Martin dating from the 1920s which has been reused by Martin to write notes on.
