Scope and Content

Materials created by or relating to Francis P. Osborne, including certificates of exemption from Responsions at the University of Oxford, other materials relating to Osborne's time at Lincoln College, Oxford, correspondence (including letters, cards and telegrams) relating to Osborne's submission for the Gladstone Memorial Prize in 1903, his achievement of a First and his application to All Souls College after graduation, a certificate of life membership of the Oxford Union Society and a typescript of Osborne's essay 'James Edward: The Old Pretender.', submitted for the Gladstone Memorial Prize in 1903. LC/MS/OMP/OS/1-21 are stored in an envelope labelled 'Correspondence F.P. Osborne.', which also features crossed-out labels reading 'Dr. V. H. H. Green.' and 'FHS Sport Documents'. Several items have retrospective handwritten annotations by Francis P. Osborne which describe them.
