A privately circulated publication by H. A. Johnstone, providing a biographical sketch of his life. Johnstone was for many years the headmaster of Brentnall Street Higher Grade School, Stockport. He was associated with the Department of Education. Johnstone was the father of Mary Tout, wife of the historian, T. F. Tout , and Hilda Johnstone, a historian at Royal Holloway College.
