Scope and Content

From Richard Baldwyn junior in Ludlow, Shropshire, to Sarah Wesley in Charles Street near Stokes Croft, Bristol. Richard's mother [Mary] sends her thanks for Sarah's letter, which she would have answered herself, had she not been suffering from a 'fashionable' cold - all the Baldwyn household are afflicted but she has had a cough for an unusually long time. She is concerned for Sarah's loss but is pleased that cousins Charles junior and Sally are well.

They were pleased to hear that Aunt [Rebecca Gwynne] is staying with the Wesleys but would have been glad if she had stayed with the Baldwyns also.

He has enclosed a few francks.

Richard's brother, sister and parents join in sending their love to Uncle Charles and Aunt Sarah, Aunt [Rebecca] and the Wesley children.

In a postscript he adds that Miss ?Batevyle sends her regards.
