Josephine Butler to her friends [the Miss Priestmans]

Written from Ewart, Northumberland. No year but reference to the last number of the 'Storm Bell' means 1898.

Has cheering news about the 'Storm Bell'; that after distributing 15,000 copies of the last number, the demand still continues: Mrs Booth (Salvation Army) has asked for a 1,000 for her Salvation Army Captains, and Miss Forsaith needs 10,000 more. It has now been stereotyped so they can order any number. The first number has answered the purpose of a Leaflet, hence the demand for it. She fears Miss Humbert will have to leave her at Easter as her father though recovered from his last attack needs his daughter, She hopes the controversy about Lady Henry Somerset will now die out; she hoped it would have died out with the death of Miss Willard [17 Feb 1898] but certain people seem to want to keep it up. She and Miss Humbert very busy at the moment in preparations for the Congress to be held in London in Jul 1898. She finds Mr Burfoot willing and useful for her for odd jobs in London.
