The Society was originally known as the Fellowship of the Unitarian College, Manchester in 1948;this body appears to have evolved into the Manchester Unitarian Society, which had as itsobjective:to promote discussion and debate on topics directly or indirectly associated withUnitarianism and to provide a medium for the propagation of liberal religions and humanitarianthought in the University."
