Journal of Alfred Saville, February - December 1866, describing his voyage with his wife, from England to the Loyalty Islands [New Caledonia] via Adelaide (South Australia). He describes life on board the John Williams, the places they called - Adelaide and Melbourne (where they journeyed overland to the Castlemaine goldfields and visited its Chinese camp), Hobart and Sydney. The final leg of the journey took them to Aneiteum [Anatom] where his daughter Lillie was born, and eventually arriving at Lifu. Journal is in the form of a note book from February - July 1866, and two unbound journals covering August - December 1866. Also contains an eight page account of Bully Hayes a notorious seafarer/pirate operating in the South Seas.
